Whether training in the Cornish surf breaks she grew up with or taking on the world’s best at international competitions, Emily’s path is defined by relentless ambition, ocean-driven passion, and a determination to keep pushing what’s possible in the sport of longboarding.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you first got into surfing / longboarding?
I grew up by the sea in Bude, North Cornwall, as a family we spent a lot of time at the beach and in the sea. In the summer holidays my uncle would take my cousins and I surfing, and I think I just got hooked from there. As for longboarding, a family friend encouraged me to have a go on his longboard one day when the waves were tiny. He was really supportive and encouraged me to longboard more often and that kicked off my longboarding journey!
What do you love most about your sport and why?

I love the freedom and lifestyle of surfing – riding a wave is such a freeing feeling, gathering speed, drawing lines, it’s very creative. As for the lifestyle of surfing, it has given me amazing experiences and opportunities and taken me to parts of the world I would have never travelled to else.

Looking back, what’s been your proudest moment or greatest achievement to date?
Probably qualifying for the WSL World Longboard Tour – it’s the pinnacle of competitive longboarding, it had been a dream of mine and something I had worked hard to achieve for a number of years!
What are your current goals or what do you hope to achieve in the future?
